Course Structure

Please note: This is a 'blended' 2 step course.

• Step 1: Book & complete the online theory first (approx 1.5 hours)
• Step 2: Then book your face-to-face theory & practical assessment (this can not be booked until Step 1 is completed)

Location:The White Card face to face assessments are conducted at out training centre in Cairns: 8 Spoto Street, Woree

Requirements for Your White Card Course

• Must be able to speak English
• Participants must be a minimum of 15 years of age
• 3 forms of evidence of identity documents 
• Closed in footwear
• Have Literacy skills to read and interpret statutory signage, warning signs and instructions. 
• Have the ability to complete a workplace Incident Report.
• Have numeracy skills to perform simple calculations.
• Have a level of oral communication that enables you to make accurate verbal answers to assessor.
• To complete the online theory part of your course, you will need access to:
  
  • a computer/phone
  • Internet. If this is difficult for you we can arrange access for you – just give us a call!

Additional Course Information

We offer industry experienced trainers and modern plant and equipment at our Cairns based training centre

Assessment types:

• Multiple choice open book
• Individual Verbal questioning 
• Complete a simple incident report form
• Correctly fit personal protective equipment
  
  

On completion the trainees will be able to competently:

• Identify WHS legislative requirements
• Identify construction hazards and control measures
• Identify WHS communication and reporting processes
• Identify WHS incident response procedure

On successful completion and being deemed competent you will receive a statement of attainment and a plastic industry wallet card issued by QTLT RTO 40931

The face-to-face practical session (Step 2) gives you the opportunity to learn the applied skills, practice them and receive trainer feedback and then complete assessment tasks.

Exemption

An exemption applies allowing candidates whose residential address is further than 100 kilometres away from the nearest RTO delivering face to face white card training, to complete the white card training via online delivery. You will still need a photo with PPE though.
