MR Truck Licence

MR - Medium Rigid

  • Drive a truck, van or bus (including a prime mover or a mobile crane) over 8t GVM with a maximum of 2 axles (1 at rear).
  • You may also tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 9t GVM.

Eligibility

  • Hold your car licence (min. Red Plates) for a period of 12 months before upgrading to LR/MR licence.
  • Complete the Heavy Vehicle theory test with Qld Transport, which can be done on the day of your practical driving test.

Medical Conditions

If you have any of the conditions below you will need a obtain a medical certificate (it needs to be lodged with the department of transport) stating you are OK to drive for the class of licence you are applying for before starting any training. (i.e MR, HR etc):

  • blackouts
  • diabetes
  • eye or vision problems
  • heart disease
  • neurological—dementia, stroke, seizures or epilepsy
  • psychiatric disorders
  • sleep disorders
  • alcohol or drug dependency..

Cancellation Policy:

  • Change to course time or date greater than 24 hours from course start:  $30
  • Cancel course or change date within 24hrs of course start:   $200
  • Cancel Course or fail to show on the same day as the course:   100% of course fee
