HR Day course was a great introduction to heavy vehicle driving in a suburban area. First hour or so really allowed me to be comfortable with the size and handling of the truck - obviously very different feel to a car or LR, and Joe was great at letting me make mistakes safely in order to learn. The next few hours of practices allowed me to focus on my routine of mirror checks, speed, braking distance, etc - including those pesky traffic lights that change at just the awkward distance and you have to make a call on if you stop or keep going.

Joe was a calm, informative and helpful instructor - just the right balance of caution and encouragement. Lots of helpful tips to make driving safe and comfortable.

The Practical Test went smoothly. Very pleased to have passed first go.

Would recommend everyone take this course / approach to getting their HR - you would be mad not to spend a few hours practicing in the cab you are being tested in and get those bad habits out of your system before your assessment.

Look forward to coming back in the future to do my HC and more.

Hi having moved town I needed to find work so I asked NEATO if they could help me out . The answer was yes and they arranged for me to go with cairns truck school. after a few phone called all was set for meet the instructor at Innisfail transport. Arrived in Innisfail and meet my instructor and he was very easy to listen to and told me what was what about the truck and then away we went doing laps of Innisfail and around all the back streets with him telling me where to go . His knowledge of the town helped me a lot as he new his way around very well . Soon after our drive and him drumming into my head all I was doing wrong I had the transport assessor hop in the truck for our drive and test . Soon after leaving the gates the rains started just to give me more to deal with wile driving the big Volvo around . After our drive it was back to the department of transport where I was told I had passed my HR . So happy and a big thank you to helping me and being easy to deal with. See you all again when I upgrade

John Hardcastle is an excellent instructor and good company. I thoroughly recommend him but, given my experience , I am sure the other instructors would also be of a high standard. Driver Trainer Taffy is exceptional.

I was really concerned about the license in a day course for my truck license. It is expensive if you fail and have to do it all over again. I have previously failed a HR driving test and even though it was 10 years ago, I was still very nervous. I was so ashamed that I previously failed that I never returned to do the test again.

Taffy was unaware of this. He was firm but polite when correcting my accumulation of bad driving habits. He made me feel comfortable and confident in my abilities. If I wasn't comfortable in my abilities, we did it again until I felt totally confident.

I was prepared for the driving test extremely well and nerves were not an issue as a result. I passed the driving test with ease.
