I recently completed my forklift course with Cairns Truck School and had a really good experience over the three days. The course was informative and practical, and I found the way everything was explained made it easy to understand and put into practice. I particularly appreciated the focus on safety and WHS, as it gave me a much better understanding of the responsibilities that come with operating a forklift and the hazards you need to be aware of. I really appreciated the focus on student welfare. I felt supported throughout the course and never felt like I was being rushed through the training. All three trainers I had over the three days were great to work with, approachable and willing to explain things or answer questions when needed. By the end of the course, I felt a lot more confident and aware of how to operate a forklift safely and responsibly. Overall, I had a great experience with Cairns Truck School. I would definitely recommend them and would be more than happy to come back and complete further courses with them in the future.

I honestly can’t recommend Cairns Truck School enough! If you’re looking to get your truck licence, especially as a newcomer or foreigner in Australia, this is definitely the place to go. A massive shoutout to Raq, Blake, and Ian for making the whole experience so much easier and more enjoyable. Everyone was helpful, patient, professional, and genuinely wanted to see me succeed. Special shoutout to Ian McEachern absolute legend! ?? He really went above and beyond to help me through the process and make sure everything was sorted. I did have a small issue where my middle name/details got mixed up a little, but honestly, no big deal at all — it was already sorted out and taken care of. Things like that can happen, and what matters is having people who actually help you get it resolved quickly. ???? Advice for anyone coming from overseas As a foreigner, one of the biggest pieces of advice I can give is get your Australian documents organised before you start the process. Having everything ready can make things much quicker and easier. In particular, I recommend having: * Your overseas passport * Birth certificate and any other required identity documents * An Australian bank account with a physical bank card, as this can help when getting your ID/licence information processed * Any other documents required by Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) Having your documents in place from the beginning can save you a lot of time, stress and back-and-forth. If you’re thinking about getting your truck licence, don’t keep putting it off give Cairns Truck School a call! The team knows what they’re doing, they make you feel comfortable, and they genuinely want to help you get through the process. Raquel is a great facilitator, she absolutely stood out as someone who knows their stuff inside and out but also is able to translate knowledge and lived experience to drive home important topics/points and share that knowledge effectively. I personally do not have any background in warehousing or had never previously used a forklift before and Raq made the experience much more accessible for someone with a background in a different industry with very limited knowledge. I'm at a loss for words to describe how wonderful it was to do my HR licence through this institution. Thank you so much to instructors Michelle, John, Brett and Ross for taking me through my lessons. They were incredibly patient and encouraging. I've done two resit for my HR licence, it hurt me more since the decisions I made went against what I was taught by the instructors. I got too over my head but Michelle, John and Pete stayed true to who they were and kept on encouraging me as well as re-evaluate what I did wrong and then work on them. I'm grateful to Charmaine and Pete for looking out for me by booking me in at the earliest they could when I failed twice. I have had all four instructors and they are awesome instructors whom are very good at their craft. They each have their respective methods of teaching and has helped me a lot with my understanding of operating the truck. There was no pressure and they guided me through each step with their calm and collective advice even though in some situations it would've warranted a few F-bombs.
