Training for Bulk Water Truck Ticket Cairns

Bulk water trucks are purpose built vehicles for the transport and distribution of water on worksites and may include: diesel-mechanical, diesel-electric, rigid or articulated vehicles. This unit is appropriate for those working in mobile plant operator roles, at worksites within:

  • Coal mining
  • Extractive industries
  • Metalliferous mining

Cairns Truck School provides Bulk Water Truck training both locally in Cairns and in remote locations. The Cairns-based course involves a theory component conducted at our training centre in Cairns, with practical component and assessment conducted at our training site at Freshwater.

Cost:  $580 beginners, $480 experienced (*see details below)

  • Theory - Online
  • Practical - 76 Lower Freshwater Rd, Kamerunga QLD 4870 (Google Maps)

Duration:   4hrs to 1 Day depending on experience

Time:  7.00am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday

* Experienced Course - 1 day -  $480. Must supply either OHS/RII ticket OR VOC (minimum 6 months experience)

Course outline

This nationally recognised training course gives participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate a Bulk Water Truck and work in a range of different working environments including earthmoving, civil construction industries.  

  • conducting prestart and start-up checks prior to commencing operations
  • driving and manoeuvring bulk water vehicle, and adjusting techniques to suit work conditions
  • operating bulk water vehicle within equipment operating capacities
  • positioning bulk water vehicle for loading, carrying and discharging/distributing water
  • relocating the vehicle from site to site
  • carrying out machine operator maintenance
  • clean up work area after operations


Prerequisites

Participates must:

  • Have minimum MR Licence
  • Phone, Ipad or computer with camera if doing online theory
  • Proficient in English

  • Photo ID
  • wear sun-smart and job-site ready clothing - Steel-capped boots, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen
  • Lunch and water/drink

VOCs

Verification of Competency (VOC) available for all machinery, heavy vehicles and other competencies.
