I would thoroughly recommend Cairns Truck School as a training organisation to obtain a heavy vehicle licence. They were very accomadating to all of my needs and provided a professional and prompt service.
I would also like to extend a personal thankyou to Kirsten who was my instructor. Kirsten was patient, encouraging, provide clear instruction and firm when required. She also treated me as a competent and capable individual and acknowledged my prior skills. This helped lift my confidence and allowed me to successfully gain my MR licence. I personally recommend her as an instructor for anyone who is nervous, anxious or female and wants to succeed in the transport industry.

Michelle from the 1st time we got in the truck you made me feel relaxed and at ease. There was always professionalism and sterness when needed as many of us older clients have developed bad habits. I recently successfully obtained my HR licence through Cairns Truck School. My trainer was Joe, and throughout the day , he was a hard bugger and at times really p$%^&d me off. HOWEVER!! when I did my driving test, everything he instructed came flooding to my mind and I passed! Thanku Joe!! Ya b@#$^&*d!

Outstanding trainer. I've driven 7.5t trucks for a good time but Joe taught me loads with his combination of experience and ability to get me to focus on my areas of focus. I passed first time with a couple of minor errors. Cairns is the ideal place to do an HR course - not too much traffic to piss you off but enough to challenge. Best driving school in Queensland.

Spent a few days with Taffy at the Enviro-Land active worksite covering various earthmoving machines. He is knowledgeable, friendly and extremely competent at all facets of the machines. Always willing to assist and help when you are stuck. Spending time with each trainee was priceless and ensured everyone passed on the days I attended. Great job mate!

I was surprised to get through with no NCDE or CDE marks. Joe's thorough education and preparation was obviously well explained and easy to accept. I wish to apologise to Joe as toward the end he was repeating himself; which I think was me trying to concentrate on the now, listening to Joe about just past events and me getting nervous about the approaching test. My driving lesson yesterday with Taffy was extremely helpful and even enjoyable. I can honestly say that without his very thorough explanations of the truck itself, and the confidence building skills he has, there is no way I would have passed my test. Taffy knows exactly how to point out weak spots in your driving skills and does a great job correcting any faulty habits and also preparing you mentally as well as driving skill wise to actually pass your test. I highly recommend Taffy Thomas and the Cairns Truck School as the very best way to get a Heavy Rigid license, I was honestly amazed at how streamlined the whole process was, all the results of very professional and hands on experience in the business at hand. Couldn’t have asked for a better driving school or trainer. Sent a request to find out prices which I received quickly and efficiently. I passed my HC first time with my trainer Taffy who was absolutely brilliant. Told me everything I needed to know to pass my test. Taffy was full of knowledge and made me feel comfortable whilst on the Australian roads. I would 100% recommend cairns truck school.
